How much LinkedIn reach do your employees actually have?

Short answer

The combined LinkedIn audience of a company's employees is usually several times its company page following, and it appears in no dashboard and no report because LinkedIn provides no view that ranks employees by follower count. It is an asset with no owner: unmeasured, unactivated, and lost when the people holding it leave.

Almost every B2B company past fifty employees is sitting on distribution it has never counted. Not the company page followers, which get reported every month. The audience spread across the personal LinkedIn profiles of the people on payroll.

Add those profiles up and the total is usually several times the company page. It is also the only audience you have already paid for, and the only one that keeps growing when the ad budget is frozen.

Why does this number stay invisible?

Dashboards report what the platform reports. LinkedIn gives you page followers and impressions, and gives you nothing that ranks the employees of a company by audience size. So the page gets a monthly slide and the team gets nothing.

  • The audience was earned on company time, in company roles, at events you sponsored, and appears on nobody’s balance sheet.
  • When the person with the largest following leaves, the audience leaves with them, often toward a competitor.
  • The largest audience is rarely the executive team. It is usually a solutions engineer, a support lead or a recruiter.
  • Paid campaigns often target the exact audience an employee already reaches for free, and nobody checks the overlap before renewing spend.

What does the ranking change in practice?

Knowing reach per person is not a vanity exercise. It changes concrete decisions that are currently made on instinct.

  1. 1Who hosts the webinar and who shows up as a guest.
  2. 2Whose name goes on outbound sequences and whose profile buyers land on afterwards.
  3. 3Who posts the open role, and how far it travels before you pay a job board.
  4. 4Who gets ghostwriting support first, so the hours land where the audience already is.

Is reach useful without a posting habit?

A ranked list is step one. The teams that turn it into pipeline do one unglamorous thing: they make posting easy enough that people with real jobs keep doing it. That usually means someone captures their thinking and hands back a draft, rather than asking them to write from scratch on a Sunday.

That is the work Invisible Keyboard exists for, and it only works once you know whose voice is worth amplifying.

Frequently asked questions

How do I measure my team’s combined LinkedIn reach?
Open each employee profile, record the visible follower count, or connection count where followers are hidden, and total them. It is manual work, which is why almost nobody does it. Invisible Reach delivers the ranked top ten for a company as a paid report.
Is employee reach really bigger than the company page?
In most B2B companies past fifty people, yes. Individual profiles also get materially more organic distribution per post than a company page, so the practical gap is wider than the raw follower numbers suggest.
Who usually has the largest audience on a B2B team?
Frequently not the CEO. Technical and customer-facing roles, recruiters and long-tenured individual contributors often outrank leadership because they have been publicly useful for years.
